Your Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi → Nanyuki → Ol Pejeta Conservancy

An early morning pickup in Nairobi and a scenic drive north towards Nanyuki and the foothills of Mount Kenya, arriving at Ol Pejeta Conservancy — one of Kenya's leading wildlife and conservation destinations.

Enjoy lunch before an afternoon game drive across the conservancy, taking in not just wildlife but Ol Pejeta's conservation story: its work with rhinos, wildlife protection and community conservation, from lion tracking to guided bush and bird walks.

Overnight: Sweetwaters Serena Camp or another suitable accommodation in/around Ol Pejeta.

Day 2 Ol Pejeta → Sirimon Gate → Old Moses Camp

After an early breakfast, depart Ol Pejeta for Sirimon Gate, one of the official access points to Mount Kenya National Park, and complete park entry formalities.

The trek: Sirimon Gate (2,650m) to Old Moses Camp (3,300m) — approximately 9 km through montane forest, 3–4 hours hiking.

Arrive at Old Moses in the afternoon for tea, coffee or hot chocolate before dinner and overnight.

Day 3 Old Moses → Shipton Camp

After breakfast, begin the trek towards Shipton Camp through Likii North Valley and Mackinder's Valley, with increasingly dramatic mountain scenery.

The trek: Old Moses (3,300m) to Shipton Camp (4,200m) — approximately 14 km, 6–7 hours hiking, with a hot lunch along the way.

Time to rest and acclimatise on arrival, followed by a summit briefing ahead of the next morning's ascent.

Day 4 Shipton → Point Lenana → Old Moses

The summit push: A 2:30 AM wake-up and light breakfast, then the ascent from Shipton Camp (4,200m) towards Point Lenana (4,985m), timed to reach the summit around sunrise.

Time for photographs and celebration at the top before descending to Shipton Camp for a full breakfast, then continuing down towards Old Moses Camp with a hot lunch along the way.

Arrive at Old Moses in the afternoon to relax and recover after the summit — the feeling of a genuine expedition, not just a visit to Mount Kenya.

Day 5 Old Moses → Sirimon Gate → Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, the final descent from Old Moses to Sirimon Gate — approximately 9 km, 2–3 hours hiking — arriving late morning to complete park exit formalities.

Meet the vehicle and begin the journey from the mountain to the Great Rift Valley, continuing to Lake Naivasha for check-in and an afternoon and evening of relaxation.

Day 6 Lake Naivasha & Hell's Gate → Nairobi

Begin the final day with a morning boat safari on Lake Naivasha, exploring the lake from the water and observing its birdlife and wildlife, including the African fish eagle.

From there, continue to Hell's Gate National Park for an active final adventure — walking and cycling are both permitted here, against a landscape of dramatic cliffs, gorges and geothermal features (see the choices below).

Enjoy lunch before the journey back to Nairobi, arriving later in the afternoon or evening.

Above the clouds, then back to the valley.
